Our mission of working with poor and socially disadvantageous, stigmatized and excluded women, men and girls and boys to address their basic rights and enhance their Food Security will guide us in our approach as well as in moving towards partnership. In order to achieve maximum impact and best utilization of resources, we are making all possible efforts to work with like minded groups and civil society organization. Our partnership consideration (both in seeking grant and working relationship on cause of poor and excluded) depends – will the partnership enable poor and excluded people to change existing power relations in their favour?

The organizational efforts in strengthening of CBOs - Aim is focusing more towards building its association directly with agency of poor and excluded groups. This association is get matured only after open discussion and both way acceptance. It happens through two ways communication & information inflow system. During its course of intervention, the organization has formed Rozi-Roti Samit, Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Samiti, Kishori Mandal, Job card Dharak Sangh as strategy of enabling community.

Rozi-Roti Samiti - Rozi-Roti Samiti (RRS) emerged as a CBO in Lakhimpur district on Right to Food, Work & Livelihood issue. The Samiti has started to collectively fight against corruption on NREGA and other Govt. entitlements. Due to the collective strength of the Rozi Roti, block officials have refunded the bribe money – collected for distribution of Job Cards. RRS has organized protest rallies, sammelans, dharnas, roadblocks, and public hearing to attract mass attention on the issues

Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Samiti - Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Samiti is a women’s organization formed with an objective of empowering the women to undertake and solve issues related to women. They are raising issues regarding burden of work in society, atrocities and wage differences. Various awareness generation programmes are carried out for women from time to time through formal and informal meetings women are sensitized about their rights.

Kishori Mandal - Kishori Mandal is a CBO of the adolescent girls, which is emerged during BAL mela in the field.  Most of them drop out from the school due to its distance of upper primary school of Government primary school and poverty. It has been consisted of 3 villages and 27 members of the Kishori Mandal.  During the meeting they are sharing their view.    

Job card Dharak Sangh - Job card dharak Sangh is a community-based organization consisting of village volunteers, which have job cards under NREGA. Sangh aims to facilitate effective implementation of NREGA at the village. It will adopt a stance of ‘cooperate wherever it can and resist where it should be?

Rickshaw Chalak Sammittee - Rickshaw Chalak Samiti (RCS) emerged as a CBO in Luckopw urban areas on right to shelter and k & Livelihood issue. They raised their voices for asserting their rights of shelter, education and identification. RCS has organized protest rallies, sammelans, dharnas, roadblocks, and public hearing to attract mass attention on the issues and seeking their solidarity.

Processes so far followed…

The processes adopted by Aim help the communities analyze the underlying causes of their situation and how they may consider changing it. Aim helps in setting up community based organizations that are then trained to implement and monitor their (peoples’) plans. To complement and support this micro-level work, Aim works at the macro level to influence government laws, policies and programmes so as to ensure greater justice for the women and men, girls and boys in poverty that it works with. This macro level advocacy work is link with intensive research study, Fact Finding Mission, Urgent Action Appeal, Research Mission, Public Hearing and Testimonies, Documentation, Film making etc.

·         Rojgar Haq Abhiyaan emerged as broad alliance of CBOs

·         Emergence of Rozi Roti Samiti – state and district level alliance in the project area as advocacy unit for larger dalits groups on Food Rights issues resulting in their increased access of food right schemes

·         Initiated capacity building exercise on Food, Work and Livelihood issues – Regional Consultation and Orientation for CBOs representatives

·         35 women and 957 men submitted their application for getting work under NREGA in Aim’s operational area in Lakhimpur Kheri

·         Total of 506 person including children received benefit under different food social security schemes, where as 66 cases are under process in Aim’s operational area in Lakhimpur Kheri.

·         Increase in NREGA programme in Mittauli of district Lakhimpur.

·         Increase accessibility of community in NREGA and other government welfare schemes. Increasing accessibility in job cards. Payments were made to workers.
